Recently, however, there has been a major announcement where not only the Overwatch League, but the Call of Duty League and Hearthstone League as well will all be leaving Twitch to come to YouTube. Other streaming services noticed this was the time to start pulling in names, or in some cases, people realized it was just a really easy way to get publicity. Soon after, other Twitch streamers started doing the same. Last year, a big headline was that popular Twitch streamer Tyler Blevins, aka “Ninja,” was leaving Twitch to go to Microsoft’s Mixer. MySpace then dissipated into a fine mist, ridding the internet of millions of unfortunate pictures of duck face and Jnco pants.Ĭurrently, Twitch is starting to enter its own MySpace like problems. But they did it in a clean, easier to consume format. Then Facebook rolled in (along with a bunch of other social sites that, bless them, really tried) and took everything MySpace did. They didn’t really interrupt our reading flow. Instead of sponsored posts, all of the ads were in these banners at the top and the side.
